On several occasions my partners and I have talked about products and tips for separate environments, but until now we had focused mainly on those small spaces where there was no separation not by design, but because we wanted to make the most of the meters.
However, there are other types of spaces where there is no separation between environments, known as loft, of which Patch spoke to us very well a few days ago.
These are diaphanous, high and spacious roof homes, with almost no separations, since at the beginning it was about using the structure of abandoned factories, now, it is already a type of avant-garde housing. Especially appreciated by young people living alone and couples, with families we already know that it is more difficult to live in a loft.
Now this type of structure poses some problems, especially if we do not plan well and that is to live comfortably in a loft and not give up anything we must learn to separate environments, even if it is not with walls, if not the result can be very messy and unstable.
Thanks to these photos I've found in Freshome I can give you some ideas and tips to do it and keep it as easy as possible:
Try to keep order: Imagine this house full of things, it would be useless to have perfectly separated environments, the space would be messy and confusing if we had clothes, shopping bags or messy books
Do not overload: having more things in the account means joining more spaces and that means that in the end the artificial separations of the environments are not well appreciated
The color of the floors: Well, we enter directly into the forms of separation, a very original and decorative idea that the designers of this house have had and use two different types of soil to visually separate environments, a floor for the work side and another for the what we could call leisure, an effect that is reinforced by a figure placed right in the middle at one of the points.
Orient the central island: in these spaces the kitchen does not have a separate place, and it is important that it is very well located, as you can see in this case they have achieved it by dedicating a corner strictly for her and facing the central island to the rest of the installation, so When you eat you are totally back to the rest of the house.
Use the furniture with separation, it can be clearly seen how they have done it in the living room, they have strategically placed the back of the sofa so that it separates the environment with the dining room and that of the sofa, where less roughness is required to do so, to separate the living room from the hallway
Use sliding doors As you can see there is an open between the lobby and the bulk of the loft, it is a way that there is separation and does not exist, that is, having a separation when we want and that is practically not when we do not need it.
Use accessories such as plants, that create a visual discontinuity and that help you make the visitor notice the difference between one of the ends of the loft and other.
Use various stylesThis can also be a good option, although very risky especially if we talk about small loft, it is about decorating each environment with a unique style, that way the areas will differ quite well but it can lead to confusion
The carpets, like the different color of the floors can help us to frame a part of the room that we believe should have a differentiation with the rest
Last but not least, artificial separations such as screens, curtains, pavements, never go out of style, and we can choose one suitable for our loft, regardless of style.
