Show us your house: the before and after of David's house (I)

One of the most popular sections among Decoesfera readers is Show us your house, since it appeases that curious spirit that we all carry inside, and the editors are delighted that you want to share with us all your homes, as David has done, who contacted Decoesphere to open, very kindly, the doors of his house and show us the spectacular before and after Of the same.

David tells us that he and his partner bought this house because they fell in love with its possibilities. Despite being very small (45m2), with a single room and kitchenette, presenting square floor overlooking the feeling of being wider. I was very taken advantage of since it had no corridors or partitions; it was also very bright. Finally, he encouraged them to buy it the fact that the reforms he needed to adapt to his tastes were not very expensive, since they were mainly decoration changes.

The first reform that they faced was the “face wash” of coverings (walls and floor), since they were very clear that they wanted to put dark parquet and unify the walls of the whole house by painting them White colorto give yet greater brightness and promote the breadth of space. The only concession to other colors was green, incorporating it into textiles, such as the bedspread, cushions, or through plants.

What they did not want was to recharge the space too much or make the environment chaotic with an excess of colors or decorative elements. For them the main thing was the functionality and the order, given the shortage of square meters. They also opted not to introduce more than the furniture necessary, modern style and straight lines, and always in white, as they had originally proposed.

The second reform they have faced has been motivated by the birth of his daughter Noelia. The already few meters with which the house has had to be further compartmentalized to make the room of the child. For this, as can be seen in the following image, they came up with an ideal solution: "Steal" a few meters to the living room, where they used to have the dining table where we can see David working.

Plates of plasterboard and the children's room (which we will see in another post) already had its space. They took advantage to change the kitchen, which still retained the old blue furniture and kept up with the decorative scheme of the rest of the house. They chose white furniture and made it more functional thanks to a new distribution.

They have replaced the American bar, which closed the space too much, for a table with chairs, which serves as dinning room. And to the right of the kitchen they have placed a kind of breakfast bar, with a great breadth, which serves as a food preparation countertop and also as desk and desk.

What do you think? I think have admirably resolved the reform of your home, with a tight budget, as they tell us. They have won amplitude, brightness and, what is more important, they have achieved that each space of the house has very well defined its function. I wait for you in a next post to see Noelia's room.

Five children's DIY for a return to the movie school

Now, yes, that arrives the last week before returning to school and except for the short time to go to buy the uniforms and finish lining the books, we have the little ones circling at home and asking if they can watch TV. A good way to keep them entertained and to participate in the cleaning and decoration of their rooms before they disappear on the way to school, is to do DIY with them, where they display all their creativity and have fun while helping.

A good idea: a blackboard as a headboard

Imagine being able to personalize your bedroom daily. It would be great, right? Also tired, it's true, but ... what if you only had to paint? It would also be fun. Well that's what we propose today with our new idea for your headboard. It is about placing a blackboard as a headboard, on which to write, leave messages or simply paint if you are a little “busy”, that way every day your bedroom can have a different touch, you can leave messages to your partner (which get up an hour later than you) or just express yourself.

Trio Animal Bag to store toys

At this point and many of you will have noticed that I really like the order, the children's room in the house does not have to be an exception, obviously it is a space not as sober as those of adults and maybe it can be a little more flexible with the distribution of elements inside but that does not mean that personal items and toys should be thrown out there.
